anyone have any experience with this unit, I don't find any reviews on it, or any other recommandations are appreciated?

I've used star tech stuff and as a company they usually make pretty good yet inexpensive stuff.

As to chassis like these, the dangerous parts are the passive connectors. Too many passive connectors like sata to 8088 to 8087 (internal sas and external sas) cause signal loss and the drives end up with errors.

If you do use one of these, make sure your raid card on the server has external connectors. I tried using an external to internal adaptor with an internal sas raid card and a chassis like this and the whole thing was unusable.
