Hi Experts,

On my servers the HP tool for monitoring is installed -> HP SYSTEM MANAGEMENT HOMEPAGE
I have seen as SNMP destination it is set to SERVER1.
On SERVER1 I cannot find the SNMP Server settings.
Can you help me to find the HP SNMP Server settings ?

not sure how much or what snmp settings you can do on HP SYSTEM MANAGEMENT HOMEPAGE but I have successfully tested snmp traps through ILO page i.e. remote management of your HP server.
In that, you need to set SNMP server, enable SNMP service, configure trap destination and community string (e.g. public or any other specific on which your snmp server can receive traps). apart from this your snmp server (which will receive traps from HP server) needs to have MIB information specific to HP server so that it can understand the information in the traps sent by HP server which you can obtain from HP's website.

Ok, on the ILO I can set the SNMP Destination.
But I have to find the configuration from the SNMP Server.
On my HP Servers the HP Email Notifier are installed and configured.
But when I send test traps, they are configured to Destination SERVER1 and I get emails about the traps.
Where to find the SNMP Server settings ?

    Accepted Solution

I can give you exact settings about it in 2-3 days if you can wait or you will have to go through each and every tab in ILO. (I also overlooked some snmp settings initially which delayed my task significantly).
You can also check SNMP service > Security tab under Services

    Assisted Solution

OK but I found it out.
Each server sends the traps directly to itself, then to HP NOTIFY EMAIL tool....
