FileMaker 12 - Restrict users to see only their own records

In fileMaker I have a table,

username
rate

a table for activities, where they log their hours and it gets multiplied by the rate..

but I don't  want other users to see the rates of others. How can I accomplish this?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

There are a lot of ways to solve this using File -> Manage… -> Security and setting option in various privilege sets. The simplest way to do it is to create a field in each table where you want the restriction to apply. You can call the field "CreatedBy" or "RecordOwner" or whatever you want but it needs to be set to auto-enter the account name of the creator. That's the Account Name, not the user name, and it requires that you have accounts setup for all your users and have them assigned to a Privilege set that restricts there view. To do that, to into the Privilege Set definitions restrict viewing records to only those records where CreatedBy matches the Get(AccountName) of the current active account.

Select "Data Access and Design" and Records: and choose "Custom Privileges". Select all (or some) and under View, select "Limited". Then enter the calculation   CreatedBy = Get ( AccountName ) )
