pdf's open slowly in outlook

I have 6 users who have been experiencing extreme slowness while opening PDF attachments within Outlook 2007 and 2010.

I have removed obsolete printers, cleaned out useless Outlook add-ins, and set Adobe reader to "LAN" speed.  I also unchecked Adobe setting "enable enhanced security", and checked "Automatically trust Sites with OS".

Any suggestions are appreciated, I'm at my wit's end with this one.  Thanks.
