    Accepted Solution

You need to install and configure VSFTPD from the shell as well.

    Install FTP Server:
    sudo yum install vsftpd
    Install FTP Client:
    sudo yum install ftp

This post takes you through the steps of further changing the configuration and security by editing vsftpd.conf -

    Edit config:
    sudo vi /etc/vsftpd/vsftpd.conf
    Disable anonymous:
    Enable local:
    Limit local users:
    sudo service vsftpd restart
    Verify and check config:
    chkconfig vsftpd on
