How to limit the amount of virtual machines per folder in vCenter?

I need to limit the amount of virtual machines that a group of users can create within a blue folder (Inventory >  VMs and Templates).

Is this possible?

I'm not aware you can limit the number of VMs in a folder.

You can deny permissions on a folder.

Nope, not what I am looking for. I already have permissions on the folders, but I was wondering if there is a way to limit the amount of machines. Maybe constraining the database to a certain number of objects?? That would probably void my warranty....

You can limit resources per resource group. e.g 1Mhz of CPU and 1GB of RAM, and it is up to them if they run 1 or 5 MS-DOS virtual machines.

José MéndezAuthor Commented:
I have got a bunch of resources and user groups. The organization is so that there are 6 groups of engineers and we have divided the amount of resources between those 6 groups, logically. So now I would like to impose a physical limit.

gheistCommented:
That is not so logical. You kind of work in same company and should trust eachother. Just buy couple of new ESXi servers and forget resource shortage.

Just buy servers? what an awesome answer to my question.....

Your comment just proves you dont have any resource shortage.... So really you dont need any limiting of VMs
