Excel spreedsheet problem

I am not great at excel but need to create a spreadsheet that has about 30 columns and about 40 rows with data. I also need to have the name, date of birth and todays date at the top of the spreadsheet with wider columns that will not increase the size of the columns below. Is this possible in excel. thank you.

A column is the same width for ALL rows. So the way you stated it, No.

Here is what you can do:

1. Make the header row taller than the data rows and allow the title to wrap. I do this.

2. If a data element has two columns (does not appear so), you can join two columns in one row with the Merge and Center icon.
When you type in your headers, just highlight them and use the Wrap Text function in the ribbon bar.  It's left of the number formatting in the Home ribbon tab.
Better still, merge multiple cells together for your main header (see attached example).

Sorry, John, you're right - I only saw the wrap text part of your answer. No points for me, please.
