What information does SpectorSoft collect from my installation of SpectorPro?

I work for a medium sized manufacturing company that cannot afford to have data leakage.  We installed SpectorPro to monitor employee computer use and were troubled to realize upon requesting technical support from SpectorSoft that the support operator could access my SpectorPro settings remotely.  This was a shock and has us worried about what other data SpectorSoft, can collect from our company computers with SpectorPro.  

Does anyone have experience with this and know what data they collect and how often?  What do IT pros do in this type of situation?  Is there another type of employee monitoring software which doesn't have this type of backdoor for the vendor to access?

Thank you, fixit_all.  Observeit is for servers using RDP; all our apps are run on desktops.  Watchguard is a network security appliance, which is not what we're looking for.  We need something like SpectorPro, just without the threat of being spied on by another company like SpectorSoft.

ObserveIT Windows Auditor is part of the ObserveIT Enterprise and ObserveIT Xpress platforms. It records all user activity from the minute the user initiates a login, either via RDP, on a Terminal Server or directly via Ctl-Alt-Del console login.

Fixit_all, how can you be sure that the creators / distributors of ObserveIT cannot monitor the activities that ObserveIT records?
