my iphone messages keep deleting upon reboot

i have the 5s running 7.1.2 and everytime i reboot my device all of my messages that i sent/received is deleted...

any idea what could cause this???

Verify that your iPhone isn't out of storage. What is probably happening is your storage is full on your phone and it is saving recent messages in memory.
