Pushing iTunes Updates Via Group Policy

Is there a way to push iTunes (and Updates) to multiple PCs using Group Policy? I was told by Apple that it wasn't possible, but have sense seen things online to hint that it was.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Group Policy isn't the best way to deploy software as it has the following limitations:
MSI and ZAP installers only (no EXEs)
No feedback on success or failure
Lack of scheduling
Can only deploy via UNC path

Your best bet is to utilize software deployment solutions like SCCM or LanDesk. Short of using those, I'd run silent deployments utilizing a .BAT or .CMD file rather than GPO, because at least then you can create a log of success/failures.

If you truly want to use Group Policy (again, not recommended or supported by Microsoft), see here - http://www.grouppolicy.biz/2011/04/best-practice-how-to-deploy-software-using-group-policy/

Yeah, I've used GP long enough to know that it isn't the best. We're going to have new servers soon; when we do, we'll be implementing SCCM. I'd just like to know the process for doing a GP push for iTunes in case that takes a while.
