You can try a couple of things.

First, fully remove the printer. Remove it from Devices and Printers and then (also in Devices and Printers) go to Printer Server Properties, Driver tab and remove the Driver.

Now go back to the main Devices and Printers window and select Add a Printer, Local Printer, Existing Connection, Next. Notice the Windows Printer Update button beside Have Disk. Click on Update and allow it to complete. When done exit out without adding a printer.

Restart the computer.

Now try to add the printer again. See if Windows finds it. If not, try the HP driver you had.
