Fn F5 to rechannel display on Galaxy Note 2's Android

Just got a few adapters : micro USB to HDMI / SVGA but upon
connecting to the TV, nothing's shown.

Is there something I must press (like Lenovo's Fn-F7) to redirect
the display to the TV (via the micro USB)?

sunhux,

The Galaxy Note and some others don't use Micro-USB, they use MHL 11 pin connectors. You'll need a cable or connector specific for that. Among other things, I am responsible for a conference room that uses HDMI for all presentations. Here's the one I use for the Galaxy Note:

If you have the right connector, it should just be recognized and come on right away.

Cheers,

Did I get the wrong products?

No, that looks right. You are attaching a power supply to the second cable, and re-starting the tablet while it's connected?

(I rarely have to do the restart, but I am mostly using HDMI and not VGA, and I think HDMI does a better job with the handshake back to the phone telling it that the connection to the display device has been made).

One of the cable I used is for HDMI.  I did not restart the tablet but
will try restarting the iPad

You have to have power-in on the little dongle cable. I use a power strip that has USB charging outlets on it, but you can also use a USB phone charger, plug it ito a laptop, etc.
