Anti spam recomendations for Microsoft Office 365

I've a client who has moved from an on premises Exchange 2010 server to Microsoft Hosted Exchange (Office 365)  He was using GFI's Mail Essentials when he had his own mail server which worked very well.  However GFI's online Mail Essentials is very lacking compared to the in house version.

I'm looking for suggestions to an alternate solution.  Actually I'd be happy if I could configure the hosted Exchange to use RBL's, etc.

Thanks in advance!

Do you still have the in house exchange server? You could still FW the external emails (hosted exchange)  to the internal exchange server and use gfi mail essentials to filter out spam and viruses

Yes I know.  Client left the law firm and went solo.  2 person operation now.  Hard to justify a server :-)

Have you tried adjusting the spam confidence level of office 365?

If I remember it's set at 15. Seems high to me. Typically I see maybe 9 I think?
Any suggestions?

And is it possible to maybe use RBL's in the content filtering, using power shell I'd imagine?
Looks very limited in options.
