ESXi 5.x VSphere Client Download From Host

I understand that ESXi does not contain the install files for the vsphere client in order to keep the install size small and directs people to the internet. This is fine but I have run into problems where a host does not have access to the internet and if you do not have the vpshere client files else where you are up a creak.

Can a newer vSphere client (5.5) manage ESXi host of a different version like 5.1 or 5.0. I seem to run into the problem where each host wants to be managed by the vsphere client version is matches... Any way around this?

It would be nice is ESXi came with an ultra thin vsphere client that could be downloaded from the host directly.
Not required anymore.....web client in 6.0!

C# client is dead! RIP!

No longer being developed!
I heard that esxi 6 is due out Q4 is this true?
I'm sorry I cannot possibly comment, as under NDA.
