Can I set up a external exchange  2010 account on the OFfice 365 version of Outlook on macbook

I have a user that just bought a MacBook air and Office 365 and wants to connect his internal Exchange server 2010 account to his Outlook.  Is this  possible?  Will the auto discovery  configuration from the internal Server work with O365?

yes autodiscover will work.
