HP make more switches. What is the model?
The HP Procurves that I use they have MENU in CLI to access some stats,
here you can also se port-stats in web-interface,
in web-interface even realtime graphs,
you can get data by means of SNMP and make nice graphs over time by yourself ,
you can download via tftp output from "show tech all" at a given moment.

So please be a little mores specific, to help the experts help you.
What do you have and to what purpose do you want stats?

at CLI type MENU
1  for 'status and counters'
then    5 for 'Port counters'
