News Feed error on SharePoint 2013 site

Experts,

I just installed a SharePoint 2013 Ent Server on a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine with SQL 2012 server. After creating my first site in SharePoint 2013 as a newbie, the news feed on team site not displaying. Every other thing looks okay except the News Feed web part that displays the following:

Please, I need help in the house.

Did u activate Site Feed feature from site settings >manage site features ? Hope you havw configured User profile service application
Check your mysite configuration. Ensure users are crawled from Active directory.

I followed this http://blog.sharedove.com/adisjugo/index.php/2012/07/25/visual-guide-setting-up-my-sites-in-sharepoint-2013/ to create & configure MySites since it wasn't configured before.
