I have setup and connected DWL-7700AP to one Lan port on my auctiontec Verizon wireless router. The AP is already hooked up and installed on the side of the building and all 4 lights on the bottom are lit and working.

2014-09-09-16.46.12.jpgI have called Dlink support and according to their manual instructions I need to input in the web the following IP address: 192.168.0.50 but web page cannot be displayed. I tried a static IP address on my computer using such as the following IP: 192.168.1.30 but no access to the AP but only can access my verizon auctiontec router for configurations and still no access to the web.

Any help or why couldn't I connect to the DWL-7700AP?

Hi

If the unit has a default address of 192.168.0.50 then you need to set your computer to an address within the same range, i.e.  192.168.0.30 and use a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0

Try that and see if you can ping 192.168.0.50

Option one:
I tried to ping 192.168.0.50 directly connecting from my computer to the AP after I assigned static IP to my computer  as the followings:
192.168.0.30
255.255.255.0

and I left default gateway blank..

Hots destination cannot be reachable.

I tried via web: http://192.168.0.50 or 192.168.0.50 without success ( web page cannot be displayed).

Option two:

I kept my static IP address on my computer same as above and I connected my computer to one Lan port on auctiontec router verizon and I had the AP plugged back to one Lan port on the acutiontec router and I tried to ping or type in the web browser 192.168.0.50 web page cannot be displayed.

Finally I checked out the wireless in my home/business network and I still cannot see dlink router. I verified the lights are on and lit on the bottom of the AP.

Can the injector or AP not working correctly or one of the other defective?

I have diagnosed and found out the following procedures that you need to follow if you cannot ping or log onto the AP.

1. Connect an ethernet cable (RJ45) from Dlink power injector P+Data out to the AP

2. Connect an ethernet cable (RJ45) from Dlink power injector Data in to your Laptop.

3. Make sure the AP is up and running ( there are 4 lights on the bottom of the AP should be lit and they may be flickering ...don't worry its ok)

4. Make sure you disconnect your computer or laptop from internet by turning off your wireless or no ethernet cable connected to your laptop or desktop to your home/business router or switch.

6. Set a Static IP address on your computer or laptop to the followings range:
   IP address 192.168.0. 35 ( or any number except 50 or 1)
   Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
   Default Gateway ....leave blank

7. Go to your web browser and type the exact default AP IP address 192.168.0.50 or (http://192.168.0.50)
Type User ID: admin
password: blank or type admin depends on your manual.
Check out DWL-7700AP configuration photo when successfully logged in

8. If you are still having trouble logging into the AP from your computer then you may need to open the AP case housing that has about 12-14 screws.  Take a look at the photo that will show you where the reset button and press it for about 5 seconds or more.

9. Now try to connect to the AP using option number 7 as above.

10. Hint** If you use your computer wifi, smart phone or any wireless device and search for wifi in your area you should be able to find or see your AP named either default or dlink
( Please beware of any wifi default or dlink in the area so you won't confuse your AP from the neighbor if any wifi has the same SSID).

11. If you don't see default or dlink in your wifi search for the DWL-7700AP you may have to repeat and try to push the reset button again before closing the AP case housing, otherwise you may have to bring down the AP and do it again.
