Exchange Server 2013 has lots of text files in the mailbox database folder

I have a number of txt files that are filling up my exchange 13 server, its running on a 2012 platform and I'm unsure if I can just remove these files?

It could you are looking at Exchange log files (which usually have notepad icon) and thinking they are text files? What's the extention on those files you see? Are they .log? If so, they are Exchange log files. Make sure you have regular backups to truncate the log files.

they were log files and i HAVE REMOVED THEM.
