ADMT - is unable to connect to domain controller , access is denied
hi guys
i'm trying to migrate users over from an old domain fchk.contoso.com to the domain hk.fc.local.
Everything seems to be set up correctly, there aren't any firewall issues.
However when I try to use the ADMT tool which sits on a windows 2008 standard server on the hk.fc.local, when it tries to connect to to the fchk.contoso.com domain, it fails and says 'unable to connect to domain controller, access is denied'.
Now, from what I see, I think I need to add the Domain administrator account of the target domain, onto the built-in administrator account of the source domain.
But when I try to add it from the source domain, it doesn't load the hk.fc.local as part of the 'Look In' directories. It sees other domains, but not this one.
I've attached picture to show what I'm trying to do. Any ideas guys? Really need your help?:)
Thanks
Yash
