IGFXtray module has stopped working

Using windows 7 enterprise 64 bit. with an hp 840 g1 laptop.

Get title error message on startup.  How do get rid of it?

btw, the services I see running are these:
  igfxCUIService.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxCUIService.exe 4 8  
  igfxEM.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxEM.exe 6 8  
  igfxHK.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxHK.exe

Select the correct Intel driver version for your locality from here

Download and then open the installer with a file archiver like 7zip
Navigate to the Graphics folder inside the installer, locate IGFXtray.exe and extract just that file

Rename c:\windows\system32\IGFXtray.exe and copy the newly extracted file to that location

Restart and see if you see any change in performance
