Hi All

Im quite new to SharePoint and Workflows and have run into difficulty with a task that I have been set and was wondering if someone could help me.

I have a list in SharePoint 2013 in which there is a column called Daily_Log_Updates of type multiple line of Text. I want to copy the latest value of this column into another column of type multiple line of text in which the Append Changes is Yes. This column is called Daily Log.

I have managed to create a workflow that is currently carrying out this task for me, however it appends the contents of the Daily_Log_Updates even if other columns are updated in the list creating multiple entries of the same lines of text in the Daily Log

My issue is that I want the workflow to only update the Daily Log  when the Daily_Log_Updates column is amended/updated and not when other columns in the list are updated.

is this possible to d?

Please see my current workflow attached below.

Any help that someone could provide me would be very much greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Tim

If I understand what you are asking for; Try the following:

You will need to create another column to track the changes to Daily_Log_Updates.
Lets say DLU_Previous; same datatype.

Then Workflow will do the following on Change:

If Daily_Log_Updates <> DLU_Previous then
Set Daily Log to Daily_Log_Updates
Set DLU_Previous to Daily_Log_Updates.

This way the Daily Log only gets updated when there is a difference between the two version of the Daily_Log_Updates|DLU_Previous.  When the Daily Log is updated then the two version of Daily_Log_Updates|DLU_Previous are synced.
