We have recently introduced a new VCENTER server with ESXi 5.5 to replace our old 4.1 server. Now I am at the stage where we can remove the old server however it states that there is an object within the object. Is it safe for me to remove the server with the serviceConnectionPoint?

Yes, it's not usually a requirement to have this set in AD.
