What version of Acrobat are you using? Looks like v9.x has issues that have been fixed with version 10.1.4.

Alright, without jumping into some adobe forums, I know my organization was having many issues with IE11 and Acrobat 9.x We could downgrade from IE11 and had the issues disappear. However, we needed IE11 for development so we upgraded to the latest IE and the issues disappeared.

You might want to try to uninstall IE11 and see if you have the same issue. If not, you know it's the dev of IE11 and Acrobat 9.X

Here is adobe's response to hangs and issues.

I think it's the compatibility issue with acrobat.  You are using 9.2 with the newest version of IE. IE 11 is different under the hood so I would suggest you try reinstalling 9.2 or load all the Acrobat patches up to 9.5.5.

Here is the link for the patches. They are not accumulative so you need to do them one at a time.
