Deploying Asp.net site in IIS 8

I need to deploy a asp.net web application on windows server 2012 (IIS 8).

I know if I just create a Application under Default Web site, is this a recommended step.
Or I should create a new web site and create a site there?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I would recommend creating a new AppPool and a new website for the web app.  I highly recommend staying away from the Default AppPool and the Default website for use in a production environment.

Dan,

Thanks for your help. The articles clear my mind with lots of doubts I had before.

I issue is still there, I tried to follow the steps in the article and after that I added a default page "SignIn.aspx" to my site.
