Airport Extreme Base Station/Time Machine Soft Reset fails using Airport Utility

Airport Extreme Base Station/Time Machine Soft Reset fails using Airport Utility

Attempt to reset network WiFi to change Guest password fails because Airport Extreme Base Station Soft Reset returns 'No configured base stations found...' 1 Sec press of reset returns amber LED blink 1/sec. Cannot access (join?) Network with Mac or iPhone 5s in Soft Reset state.

Selecting Time Capsule returns 'Enter Password'; as this is what I don't know and want to change, I am stuck.

Before I do a 'hard reset' and have to rebuild the network, I need to be sure I have no other choices.

I used support.apple.com/kb/HT3728 used for instructions.

OSX 10.9.4 and Airport Utility 6.3.1. Internet access OK. Local wireless network connecting 3 Macs [Mavericks] OK.

How do I access Base Station to change WiFi & Guest passwords which are unknown due to personnel change.

If the TC demands a password when connecting with Airport Utility and you don't know the password, you have little choice but to do a hard reset.

Thanks, I thought this would be the solution, but one can always hope...
