mail on iPhone 5 comes in with "cannot display message as formatted"

my iPhone 5 has suddenly begun displaying "this message cannot be displayed as formatted"
This started with ios7. The steps i have taken are as follows:
Backup, reset to factory and install apps.
delete and re-install mail account a million times..
upgrade to ios8

This is currently set as imap, so when the mail hits its final destination in MAC mail it will remove it from the phone. However, i does do it with POP as well.

This is my own domain, and the other users on the domian have iphone 5s with the exact same settings and are not having this issue.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I sometimes get the message "This email has no content". It is not true and after some time, the message will display.  I get my email forwarded from mail. com and the mail.com iPhone app normally always displays.  I am also using IOS V8 but on an iPhone 4s.

Try turning off the phone completely. Once fully off (takes 2 minutes). re-power and check.
