Hi,

I have been trying to configure PTR record for my new website, 14.13.12.20 is my external IP address, but
I can't seem to get it resovled.

zone "12.13.14.in-addr.arpa" IN {
type master;
file "/var/named/12.13.14.in-addr.arpa";
notify yes;
allow-update { none; };
};

[root@sasdf named]# cat 12.13.14.in-addr.arpa
$TTL 86400
@   IN  SOA     ns1.asdf.com. root.asdf.com. (
        2014092204  ;Serial
        3600        ;Refresh
        1800        ;Retry
        604800      ;Expire
        86400       ;Minimum TTL
)
      IN        NS      ns1.asdf.com.
      20      IN        PTR     asdf.com

Can someone help understand what's missing?

Thanks,
Sri

PTR records are created by whoever owns that IP address; usually the ISP
you need to contact your service provider to have them add that record
other records (A, CNAME, MX, etc.) can be done yourself if your DNS host provider allows that
