Windows Updates through SCCM2012

Dear Experts,

Here in my organization SCCM 2012 is configured. With the help of Expert Exchange Experts i have configured WSUS & then Software updates. I have downloaded the updates & deployed it to Windows 7 collections. Yesterday at around 1 pm AST i have deployed it but till now none of the clients received the updates. It shows non-compliant as 18. If i go to Monitoring-Deployments it shows in progress -14. If i go & check in those computers it shows no items found. Have attached the images also. Also in wsynmgr.log it shows :-Failed to delete orphaned content folder \\sccmserver\WSUS\UpdateServicesDbFiles, error 0x20.

Please help.

Regards,

Setting up Updates in SCCM sometimes get tricky and hard to troubleshoot and Manage.
Managing manually created software update group for windows updates is a bit painful when done manually.
I suggest you to have a look at Automatic Deployment Rules.

Hi Vaseem,

In ADR properties under user experience the option software installation was not selected. Now i have selected this option. Also in the deployment schedule the settings according to you was ok. i.e. client local time & as soon as possible was selected.
I have attached the snapshots for it.  Will these updates will install automatically or the users have to install manually.

Now Run ADR again and wait it to finish.,
On 1 test client, in config mgr client / Actions tab Run, Machine Policy retrieval wait for 3-5 mins, Run  Software updates scan wait for 3-5mins then run software updates deployment.
See if the installation starts in software center.

On 2nd test client, just run Machine policy retrieval and see if the installation kicks in, it might take time in this case which depends on software scan and deployment cycle policy schedule.

Did you check the disk usage?

I am not really sure about the error and adding additional drive, you must search technet for the same.

Hi ,

Seems everything is working fine after restarting the client computers.  Updates are getting downloaded automatically. Every time do i need to run the ADR or it will check for update , download & push to the clients automatically .
