Dear experts,

I wish to know about hard drive swapping between two hard ware systems.

If I have two PCs with different hardware setup and one of them has Window XP and the other has Window 7.

In case PC with Widow 7 died. I really need to put that PC back alive, what are some cautions that I need to be aware of if I take out the hard drive with Window 7 installed and stick it into another working PC with different hardware configuration?

Thanks.

the drive with windows 7 can be replaced - and will load the necessary drivers for almost all configurations; so from that point of view, you're OK.
however - the windows version on it will claim that you did a major hardware change, and become not genuine, since each version is tied to the hardware it is installed on.

Is it ok for me to swap it back? Wil lthe Window goes through reconfiguration again or simply can reload the previous configuration of hardware?
