Cisco SPA502G IP phone - How to dial from PC?

Hi Experts,
Is it possible to dial outbound calls on my Cisco IP SPA502G, initiated from my PC.

I'm not after a softphone because phone needs to be functional when PC is turned off.

More like, after a cheapish software tool that tells the phone to dial xyz

Many thanks for any tips.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What you need is called "CTI Control", and I wouldn expect much support for it on such phone model. The enterprise class phones like the 79xx and other high end devices do have this kind of support. Now, there seems to be a way to control the phone using XML encoded within the SIP signaling:

That is one way you could achieve this. But like cheapish software, my answer is no, there is not. Fundamentally because of the complexity of remote controlling the device, that is definitely not a cheap-to-accomplish task.

Have a look at this doc, there is a section called " User Management and CTI Controlled Devices ":
