We are seeing these errors and not sure what to make of them or how to fix them? We are running Exchange 2003 on Windows 2003 server. Any help would be appreciated.

Exchange store 'First Storage Group\Mailbox Store (ZOUNDS-EXCHANGE)': The logical size of this database (the logical size equals the physical size of the .edb file and the .stm file minus the logical free space in each) is 74 GB. This database size is approaching the size limit of 75 GB.
If the logical database size exceeds the maximum size limit, it will be dismounted on a regular basis.

A non-delivery report with a status code of 5.4.0 was generated for recipient rfc822;jcaine@zoundscostalhearing.com (Message-ID <85D03F68A337194E87864B5D4F2E21FF80E650@zounds-exchange.zounds.local>).
Causes: This message indicates a DNS problem or an IP address configuration problem
Solution: Check the DNS using nslookup or dnsq. Verify the IP address is in IPv4 literal format.

NSPI Proxy failed to connect to Global Catalog zounds-server.zounds.local over transport Tcp/Ip.  This server is down or unreachable. Clients will not be directed to this GC until it is available again.

The master browser has received a server announcement from the computer ZOUNDS-SERVER that believes that it is the master browser for the domain on transport NetBT_Tcpip_{D370C6BC-61B3-. The master browser is stopping or an election is being forced.

The name "ZOUNDS         :1d" could not be registered on the Interface with IP address 192.168.5.2. The machine with the IP address 192.168.5.1 did not allow the name to be claimed by this machine.

This database size is approaching the size limit of 75 GB.

this is a hard limit for an exchange standard database size
SP2 allowed for an increase but seems yours was already increased to the 75gb limit

users will need to start archiving items to PST files which will cause the database growth to stop (but not shrink) which will buy you some time

A non-delivery report with a status code of 5.4.0 was generated for recipient

pretty straight-forward - a DNS issue
that domain name doesn't exist when i did nslookup; bad email address

NSPI Proxy failed to connect to Global Catalog zounds-server.zounds.local over transport Tcp/Ip

The name...could not be registered on the Interface

do you have 2 servers with the same name or one server with multiple, connected network cards?  probably related to the master browser issue also

Thanks for the quick response. Looks like the 75gig limit is the worry. Hopefully we will be moving to a hosted exchange very soon.
