I have following RDS setup:
OS - Server 2012
2 Remote Desktop Session Host
1 Remote Desktop Connection Broker
1 Remote Desktop Web Access
1 Remote Desktop Gateway
We are doing testing
User connects from outside of company network without any problems and run assigned applications
Disconnected network on user side and once connected back - user is back to his session
Brought one of the  Session Hosts down - user's app frozen within 20-25 sec, then login prompt window appears
typed user ID and password received "The logon attempt failed" message
After couple more attempts another message
"There are no available computers in a pool. Try to connect again"
Broker doesn't redirect to another session host

Run below command on RD Connection Broker server
Set-RDSessionCollectionConfiguration –CollectionName QuickSessionCollection -CustomRdpProperty “use redirection server name:i:1 `n alternate full address:s:remote.domain.com”

Replace remote.domain.com with RD Connection broker DNS name
Ensure that DNS name is able to resolve with private IP in internal network and with public IP from external network (Split DNS)

Alternatively you can change RDS Deployment publishing name with below PowerShell script
