Google drive; Public drop box
I am trying to find out is there away to create a public access to a Google Drive where people can upload an file?
I know how to share the folder publicly so that it can be seen with a link (no sign in) but how can i get tit so people with the link can drop a file into the folder?
As you know not every body has a gmail account and forcing someone to create one isn't the best solution, also I am hoping to use this so that my users don't have to create drop box accounts, or learn FTP on top of trying to understand their Google Apps account. Just wondering if I can keep it simple.

When you configure a folder for public access, you have the option of whether or not to require sign-in, and whether the access is view or edit.
Turn off the sign-in requirement and allow for edit. Your folder is now open to all. Just publish the link.

I use GoFileDrop. Works great and allows anyone with a link to upload files to your Google Drive.
Connect the people you work with to your Google Drive account with GoFileDrop
Let your website visitors upload files to your Google Drive account, simply embed the GoFileDrop upload tool on any web page or use the ready made web page and your visitors can securely upload files to a Google Drive folder you specify.
How? - Use your free secure hosted web page or embed the upload tool on your own website with just a few lines of HTML code and you are up and running, works with any Google Account.

What I was looking for was using google drive as a drop box without having to sign in to google. I don't think that is possible and I haven't found a away to do so.
Thanks for the alternative suggestions but they defeat the purpose of staying within Google apps.

I have had the same issue and there are two solutions I found that suited my need.
1: Citirix- ShareFile: http://www.citrix.com/products/sharefile/overview.html
2: Box- https://www.box.com/en_GB/home/
Compare the both and see which one suites you best.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
