backup solution

We are looking into a new backup solution and we are down to two of them. Unitrends 9TB and Datto 20TB.  Both options have cloud option.

Unitrends is it seems really granular which we like and we can archive with removable hard drives as we are required to have a year worth of backup.  Though Unitrends has the cloud option I'm not fond that they just give you another device with your data on it.  My basis for cloud is to be able to run off the cloud in case of a major disaster (fire, etc) not just get my data back.

Datto seems doesn't seem granular at all, at least by the demo the rep gave me.  I can't pick and choose what I want to back up.  The web based interface seems so easy anyone can manage it but again becuase it has no granularity. I don't know if i can restore folder/files and they restain their NTFS permissions or restore individual emails.  The one thing we like about Datto is their cloud.  Not only would we get another appliance with our data back but they can also spin up or virtual environment and we can connect to it to work of off in case of a major disaster.

Anyone ever work with either these two solutions? Anyone work with tech support?  How is working tech support? Are they responsive or is it a horrible experience?

Any comments appeciated.

Thank you for input. It was good in always getting a second option.
