Hi- A customer has her domain and website hosted with a friend. She's had the website for years. I designed the current look, so I have the files.

Her friend is moving and giving up his business. I want to move her domain and hosting over to Bluehost. But I don't want her to lose any of the SEO juice she has.

What is the best practice for doing this, so that she maintains her place on the search engines? Thanks.

Moving the site should have no impact.  Get the site set up and tested at the IP address on BlueHost.  Then make the IP changes in the DNS provider.  When the DNS switches, the domain will switch with it without interruption.  Search engines work on Domain for exactly this reason.  The hosting service should not impact the search results.
