cant fix warning 512 in cakephp

In cakephp i keep getting this warning on random pages. I am using cpanel.
I have set app/tmp folder  chmod 777

Warning (512): _cake_core_ cache was unable to write 'method_cache' to Apc cache

are you sure you've cleared the folders and set the permission? it is better delete folders and set permissions to run.

ok could you please be specific as short general answers usually dont go anywhere.

you mean the files in the app/tmp folder like cache , I can delete these files and folders then recreate the folders in app/tmp with permissions?
I am not touching it until I get clearer directions

Yes, I meant "app/tmp" ... just delete and recreate with permissions...

I still get the warning when I try to view a file stored as a link in the DB with cakephp. I did as you said wit the file permissions

I fixed the problem by removing an empty foreach
