Hi!!

I am going to switch from a VPS to shared web hosting to limit costs.

I have a couple of Wordpress sites and an application with a large DB.

I need something Linux, US based and FAST!

Any thoughts on what the best options are?

I used Godaddy for years.    I hated the clustered interface, but the uptime was fine.

I also tried 1&1 for about a year.

I've become a big fan of namecheap.   They are based in Los Angeles.     WIKI

The interface is intuitive and not cluttered with sales ads.

Namecheap doesn't have a number for calling for support.  All the support is done through email and chat.   At first i was a bit leary of this, but it has been perfect.    At Godaddy many times i got support techs that didn't have a clue what they were talking about but at namecheap the techs have been great.

I have currently moved 4 clients and myself to namecheap.    In total we are running 6 wordpress sites that have been running smooth.

Namecheap also has much better pricing than Godaddy.

I recommend at least taking a look.

On a side note, if you are moving a wordpress site, this plugin has been very helpful,

I'm surprised no other experts gave us more opinions.    Although i feel my suggestion is great, this is the type of question usually has a bit more input.      Good luck with the move.
