Lync 2010 Server Certificates

Can the same certificate template from our CA for the other Lync servers be used for the edge servers? Thanks!

Yes, but really only for the internal Edge certificate. Ideally you should be using a public certificate for the external Edge certificate.

This article explains this in detail:

Thanks Jeff! I figured that on the external. So the same certificate template I used for the FE, etc. can be used for the edge internal? Just to be sure.

Yes, the WebServer template is ideal.  Note that it should NOT be a SAN cert, just the Edge FQDN (server or pool) is used as the Common Name, that's it.

I am sure it is not... How do I tell?

If you issue the request from the Edge server it will not contain a SAN.  That is determined by the request, not the template.   Just run the Certificate Request wizard on the Edge server like the documentation shows and you'll be fine.
