VMware update manager configure for HP drivers

I am trying to configure my Vcenter update manager to download the HP VIBS to be able to push drivers through VUM.

I have seen several postings similar to the one below which seem pretty simple but it is not working as I expect.
http://christian.weblog.heimdaheim.de/2012/02/04/using-hps-vibdeposit-with-vmware-update-manager/

In the page above they reccomend pointing the repository to http://vibsdepot.hp.com/index.xml however this is going to look for all patches/drivers hp has published.

I tried however to point it to http://vibsdepot.hp.com/hpq/sep2014/index.xml so that it will only download the latest drivers. However when I click download now on this new repository I do not see any drivers being downloaded.

Do I have to point it at the base XML location or should I be able to point it to the specified monthly location to limit the downloads?

Any help is appreciated.

You need to stage drivers to one ESXi to actually download them

How can I even stage the drivers if nothing pulls once the repository is set up? It should go

1. Point VUM to hp repository
2. Click download all available drivers
3. Baseline
4. Stage
5, Remediate.
Download happens during first attempt to 4. "stage"
2. Click download just downloads repository index XMLs.
Thats the whole point of what I was asking. When I point VUM to the XML there are no patches/drivers listed as available to stage.

When I point to the VIB repository it should show me additional items in the updates pane. This does not happen.
index.xml is for management agents
index-drv.xml is for drivers

Once you add URLs to repository list you must click "apply" and then "download"
Otherwise URLs are not used.
I will give this a shot and see if anything comes down.
