Hi Everyone

I have a domain - - that redirects to
The redirection works fine but I would like to remain in the address bar so clients don't know its a Bigcartel website.

Can someone please tell me what I need to add to the htaccess file to get this masking working

This will require more than htaccess to fully mask your domain over the top of the Big Cartel store.

You'll want to setup a "custom domain" inside of Big Cartel and update the DNS records for to point at your Big Cartel store.

First, inside of your Big Cartel admin:
Go to Store > Settings > Domains, add

Next, you'll need to update some DNS settings.
You'll do this via your registrar or your hosting provider, depending on where you are managing your DNS settings.
It looks like your name server is at -- so wherever you manage that record, is where you'll make the change.

You will want to add in a CNAME record:
Alias: www

Next, you'll want to setup a 301 redirect in the htaccess file to send people from the root domain to www:

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^sennajean\$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$$1 [R=301,L]

That should just about do it.

Hi Lucas

Thanks for the info. That has helped
I have done that and now and stay in the address bar when the Bigcartel page shows but as soon as you click on one of the links like About Us or Contact, for example, the address bar reverts to or

How can I mask that as well?

Hi Michael,

When I click on the links you mentioned, I see the correct url in the address bar:

I'd try clearing the cache in your browser. Either that or you've already figured it out.
