I'm replacing an HDD with index errors.  Below is the chkdsk result.  I'd like to clone the HDD to the new one so I don;t have to go through the whole installation process again.  This this is a problem?

Samsung Series 9 running windows 8.1 pro

C:\WINDOWS\system32>chkdsk
The type of the file system is NTFS.

WARNING!  F parameter not specified.
Running CHKDSK in read-only mode.

Stage 1: Examining basic file system structure ...

  365312 file records processed.

File verification completed.

  6249 large file records processed.

  0 bad file records processed.

Stage 2: Examining file name linkage ...

Index entry ACECAC~1.LST in index $I30 of file 107484 is incorrect.

  458772 index entries processed.

Index verification completed.

Errors found.  CHKDSK cannot continue in read-only mode.

run chkdsk /f and fix the error
i wouldn't be concerned by it
always have a backup though i don't see this as something to trigger a drive replacement
if it started showing bad clusters that's a different story

OK, thanks.  I had actually run it once already and was concerned to still find it.  Ran it again and it worked.  i guess maybe i don;t have to replace the HDD just yet.

Thanks
