How can I make a junction/reparse point work within Work Folders?

Hi guys,

I'm trying to get a junction/reparse point to work inside a Work Folders sync share so that a satellite office has access to a particular network share directory on our file server in the head quarter office. The Work Folder/Sync Share process on the server end detected this junction point, and has stopped the sync and throws the following error: "The Windows Sync Share service failed to update the current state of an item. Update action: Open; Error code (0x80c80201) A reparse point was detected and won't be synced."

PS - I understand that there are other ways of getting this done (e.g, a VPN,Citrix, etc.), however due to compliance reasons I'm limited in options. I'm under the impression that Windows has detected and stopped the sync as a proactive measure to protect my server, but I was wondering if there was a way to turn that off?

You should not be doing a sync of the files, best thing to do is to use DFRS and create a replica at the satellite office.
