We have 2 Motorola MC3190 Handheld scanners and we cannot get the scanner to activate when we press the trigger.  We've tried uninstalling any apps that could conflict, we've tried scanning into notepad, and we've also contacted the vendor that we purchased them from, but no luck.  I haven't had much experience with these scanners, so it might be a simple settings, I just can't find it.

Do you see these in device manager (control panel) and what about in devices and printers? Are they properly installed and do they have the latest drivers? What version of Windows, if 7 or 8 pro or higher try Windows fax and scan and see if it sees and can run the scanners.

According to this, those scanners are wifi or Bluetooth connected and, while they have a usb charging station, I would not be surprised if they wouldn't work while in it: http://www.motorolasolutions.com/US-EN/Business+Product+and+Services/Mobile+Computers/Handheld+Computers/MC3100_US-EN
How do you have them connected to the PC?

Do you have of the scanners that are working? Or do you have just these two?

If they're two out of a batch of scanners that aren't working, and you just bought them, I'd return the to the vendor for an exchange.

Otherwise, have you tried a factory reset?

Hey guys, sorry for the delay.  We finally got support from the hardware vendor, and they helped us extract and install datawedge, which got it working for me.
