Lenovo TS430 server upgrade with RAID 700 adapter

I have a Lenovo TS430 server with on-board LSI RAID and four mirrored drives, two for boot, two for data. The IO performance of the disk is low, so I want to upgarde to Lenovo ThinkServer RAID 700 adapter, which is, from what I understand is another repackaged LSI board, put another set of disks, and build the RAID. Did anybody try to do something like this? I am afraid that there will be some incompatibility between the on-board and add-on RAID adapters.

There should not be compatibility issues. The only question will be how to move OS and data to new RAID. For the migration I would recommend you backup & restore approach.
Get a dopy of paragon Hard Disk Manager 14 Server Basic and do the backup of system and data drives.
Then insert the build the RAID on new adapter. Boot the server from WinPE recovery cd for Hard Disk Manager and perform restore from backup. When restore is done use from the same Boot CD a wizard called P2P Adjust OS. It will adjust Wimdows to new hardware and even let you install into Windows the drivers for new controller. Then it will boot into Windows.
