I have sharepoint list where by default I get created by column. I want to make that column as unique, so when users submit they should get a message that you already submitted the record.<br />

I can achieve this using Event Receiver but I'm not allowed to do custom solution here and want to acheive from UI or client script like Javascript or Jquery.<br />

Any example would be good or an idea on how to acheive this. I'm using Sharepoint 2013
