hardware light blinking too often

android 4.4.2 hardware light blinks when I get a new gmail.
How to disable this setting or see less blinking
I want blinks for only sms or phone calls (missed) but not hundreds of emails

Open Gmail on your Android device, swipe in left menu, choose settings.
Select your mail address, disable notifications (or change INbox sound & vibrate settings).
