how to configure dns for a new internal website

Hi everybody,
I configured a new website on a windows 2008 R2 server and I configured a specific domain for that. The new website can be reached from outside the LAN but not from inside. I already configure a dns record for another website that had the same domain name (site.mycompany.com) with the internal IP address (otherwise it is blocked by the firewall). But now this website has a different domain name (site.notmycompany.com). Could anyone explain how I should configure the dns to allow internal users to connect to this website ? Should I create a new zone ? I am using windows 2008 R2.
Thanks for your help
Hicham

I would create a new zone and place all your internal sites in it as it will help in managing it better. The you should be able to modify your firewall to allow who has access and to what zones.
