Recommendations - Cost estimates for architectural construction projects

Hello Experts - I am looking for recommendations for software to replace a very old version of Sage Timberline.  We use this application to create cost estimates for construction projects that my company designs.  The version we are on (9) is ancient and runs on an old XP laptop with a dongle, at least until the hard drive dies.  I checked on the most recent version which is now called Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate.  It has one of the worst set of reviews I've come across on Spiceworks:

I'd like to avoid all that drama and find an application that works with minimal hassle for both myself and our project managers.  Please recommend an alternative that would allow us to produce accurate costs for our projects, thanks!

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Have you or someone you know used this product?  I've found many just using google but I'm looking to narrow the field down a bit.

Did IT consulting for a construction firm that did contracting and sub contracting with many others and it was pretty much the standard go to product.

You can probably get some sort of demo to see if it fits your needs.

Been a while since I've implemented it
