iPhone 4S screen died

So all of a sadden the screen went black.  I was able to reset and got a white (foggy screen).  I can still receive the calls on it and even figured how to dial right back by swiping finger.   But cannot see anything on the screen.   I can use it in the car with a voice commands no problems.

Is that the screen went off or the entire digitizer kaput?  I remember it was replaced about a year ago.

First, have you tried turning the phone completely off?  Wait a half minute and turn it back on. Any change?  Likely not.

Second: I don't know from here which part, but it is likely the repair failed a second time.

I happen to like my iPhone 4s, but is it time for a new phone?

Yes, tried that.  Also I don't know when I turn it off its off, don't know when I turn it on if its on.
I already ordered 6+ a week ago.  But delivery takes 4 to 7 weeks...
